Program at BMHS to raise awareness on opioid epidemic

BILLERICA

The Billerica Substance Abuse Prevention committee presents If Only - The Movie, Wednesday, Jan. 13 at Billerica Memorial High School. The movie, from the Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation and produced by Jim Wahlberg, raises awareness about the prescription drug abuse and opioid addiction epidemic.

If Only is a short film produced to encourage teens, parents and communities to engage in a productive dialog about the dangers of prescription drug misuse and addiction.

The program runs from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The following is the schedule for the evening: 6:30-7 p.m. is resources and Hidden In Plain Sight, an awareness program for parents only. James Wahlberg will introduce the movie at 7 p.m. with the beginning at 7:10 p.m. A panel discussion will follow the movie at 7:45, concluding at 8:30 p.m.

Parents are encouraged to attend with their children. The event is free and will be held in the auditorium at Billerica Memorial High School.
