One Step Closer
I typically do not lead off with information regarding the building project, but the winter weather has been cooperating thus far and will allow Shawmut Construction to complete the fence enclosure for the high school project sooner than expected. The work is scheduled to begin on Monday, January 30 and should be completed that same day. This will mean access to the rear parking lot will no longer be accessible until the completion of the project (2019). For those of you unfamiliar with the high school layout, the rear parking lot can be accessed via the River Street entrance and driving around the building. The lower lot, currently used by Project Support and BEAM will remain open.
The yellow lines represent the completion of the fencing project. This will allow the doors at the rear of the building on the first floor (gym/trainer's entrance and BEAM/Project Support) to be used as emergency egress doors. We shared this information with staff on today and will be sharing the information with our students on Tuesday.
Midterm Exams
Midterm exams continue on Monday and Tuesday with blocks 3A/B and 4A/B. Wednesday will be the last day for Term 2/Semester 1 and we will be following a Monday schedule so all students have the chance to review their exams before the end of the semester. Although I do not anticipate any weather cancellations with the storm on Monday/Tuesday, if something were to change and a day of school is missed, the exam schedule follows the regular schedule on the next day of school. Example, if Monday was cancelled, then Monday's exams (3A/B) would occur on Tuesday. Remember, if your child is going to be out during an exam, please call their House Office prior to 7:15 a.m.
